D.A.D holds Oratorical Festival in Hartford, CT!

On Saturday, May 4th, the Cathedral of St. George, Hartford, CT, hosted the Direct Archdiocesan District Oratorical Festival.  There were 12 speakers between 7th & 12th grade, representing parishes from around the District.  Topics ranged from "selecting a favorite hymn of the church", to "the importance of water in the world and why it is a blessing to protect the environment."

We thank Fr. George Zugravu, Mr. Peter Smith and the community of St. George, Hartford for hosting a beautiful event!  We thank the six judges who had a very difficult task of selecting the advancing speakers to represent the District at the National Oratorical Festival on June 8th, in Port Washington.

The Junior Division will be represented by Nektaria Karagiannis, of Holy Trinity Church, Bridgeport, CT.

The Senior Division will be represented by Gerasimos Tsilimidos, of Sts. Constantine & Helen, W. Nyack, NY.

We wish them great success at the National Festival!
