Archdiocesan School of Byzantine Music
The Archdiocesan School of Byzantine Music is a national ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The mission of the school is to educate and develop competent cantors in the Psaltic Art. The vision of the school is to staff analogia with trained and competent cantors, to enhance the worship experience in the local parish through the ecclesiastical music tradition of the Great Church of Christ, and to be a resource for the music ministry in the local parish.
The Archdiocesan School of Byzantine Music offers a virtual learning program that is accessible to students throughout the United States. The school has also expanded its faculty with the addition of expert instructors who either hold a degree or certificate in Byzantine Music. The curriculum follows the same model as traditional music conservatories in both Greece and the United States.
