The Christos and Georgia Trakatellis Fellowship Fund

The Chancellor’s Office of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is pleased to announce that applications are now available to apply for a Fellowship from The Christos and Georgia Trakatellis Fellowship Fund. Archdiocesan Byzantine and Youth Choirs Raise Funds for Ancient Church

The Center for Family Care of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America organizes and hosts a Conference on Pastoral Challenges on Marriage, Feb. 7-9, 2013, at the Campus of Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA. The conference is open to clergy, seminarians, pastoral care workers, professional counselors, ministry leaders, and all who minister to Orthodox Christian couples. The District’s Youth Ministry

Upon hearing the horrible news of the monstrous mass shooting in the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America immediately contacted Fr. Peter Karloutsos, the priest of the nearby Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Danbury, Connecticut and expressed to him his deep pain and great concern about this terrible incident and its devastating effects on the local community, and offered any support on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The memory and the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was honored and celebrated by Orthodox Christians yesterday Dec. 6, in churches across the country and the world. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America led the annual prayer and memorial service in the area of the World Trade Center near the site where the small historic church of St. Nicholas stood for more than 80 years before it was completely destroyed on September 11, 2001. Hurricane Sandy Relief Committee

In response to the tremendous destruction following Hurricane Sandy, a special committee was formed to coordinate the relief efforts within the Direct Archdiocesan District. This committee comprised of ladies from local chapters of our Direct Philoptochos Society and headed by the Chancellor, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane, has been working diligently to not only compile a list of those families impacted by the storm but also to offer assistance wherever needed.
