NEW YORK The first official Hellenic Dance Festival, named “Parathosi” (or Paradosis) of the Direct Archdiocesan District of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America took place April 27-29, 2012 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Paul in Hempstead, New York. It was sponsored and organized by the District's Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

PARATHOSI was a celebration of Hellenic culture and featured exhibitionary performances of traditional Greek songs and dances by participants from the parishes of the District.

A video presentation highlighting the Paradosis events will air on Cablevision Channel #115 (Nassau County Cable System) in two parts:

The first part will air on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and repeat on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.

The second part will air on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and repeat on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. The videos were filmed and edited by Archon Dimitrios Panagos, the official photographer of the Archdiocese, and are presented through Public Access Television.
